A local wedding custom

Click to see a better view.

Double Happiness 喜 喜 is a Chinese symbol that is used for Chinese wedding decoration.
The Chinese symbol is composed of two Chinese characters for Happiness 喜 (xi). It is called Double Happiness.

The local custom in Tianjin is that a single 喜 decoration is put on the bride's home meaning her family is not 'double' happy since she left her parents.

So the picture I took, probably, is groom's home. :)

Yeah, kinda sad in the bride's home since most girls don't move out until they get married. So their absence is felt when they get married.

I grew in Malaysia. I cried when my sis got married coz she was my roommate...
